As the brand prepares to launch Celebrity River Cruises, it is introducing destination discovery experiences built around four distinct series designed to immerse travelers in the culture, craft, and character of each rich city. 

 

The Storyteller Series, Skillmaster Series, Keys to the City Series, and Celebrity Takeover Series go beyond traditional sightseeing toward something more personal: the chance to see Europe through the eyes of the people who live there. 

With these new destination programs, Celebrity River Cruises not only reimagines what a river vacation can be; it strengthens Royal Caribbean Group’s position at the forefront of travel innovation. By combining deep local expertise with cutting‑edge tools and thoughtfully crafted guest experiences, the Group continues to shape the future of vacationing across every brand and every waterway.

The Storyteller Series invites guests to explore Europe through the eyes of the people who know it best: the artists, residents, and cultural insiders who call each destination home. These experiences blend iconic landmarks with the lived-in places, personal favorites, and hidden histories that never make it into guidebooks.

In Amsterdam, guests will discover the city’s centuries‑long relationship with water alongside a local canal captain who knows these waterways better than anyone. As they navigate quiet passages and lesser‑seen routes, travelers experience the canals through the perspective of someone whose family has been tied to them for generations. Along the way, they’ll take in the historic Oude Kerk, step aboard a storied Dutch trading vessel, and gain a deeper understanding of the modern engineering that continues to shape the city’s iconic network today.

The Skillmaster Series takes guests beyond observation and into participation with hands-on, locally led workshops that celebrate each region’s artistry and traditions.

In Budapest, guests will step into the warmth of a local Mamika’s home kitchen, where generations‑old Hungarian recipes come to life. Together, they’ll browse the vibrant stalls of Central Market Hall to select fresh, seasonal ingredients before returning to her family table. There, through her cherished recipes and long‑held culinary traditions, travelers will uncover the heartfelt dishes that embody the spirit and soul of Budapest.

The Keys to the City Series empowers travelers to explore independently with digital tools tailored to their passions: art, food, history, architecture, and more. Through interactive maps, audio guides, and shortform video content, guests chart their own course, backed by stationed local hosts who unlock behind-the-scenes access to studios, workshops, and artisans.

In Bratislava, architecture enthusiasts will trace the city’s stories across centuries, beginning at St. Martin’s Cathedral alongside a local historian who brings its coronation legacy to life. From there, a scenic climb to Bratislava Castle offers sweeping views and a deeper understanding of how the fortress has witnessed the city’s evolution. The journey concludes beneath the striking lines of the UFO Bridge, where a local architect reveals the bold vision behind one of Bratislava’s most modern landmarks.

And, finally, once per sailing, the Celebrity Takeover Series transforms iconic European settings into elevated private events exclusively for Celebrity River Cruises guests. These bespoke, bucket list moments turn celebrated plazas, landmarks, and hidden gems into intimate destination experiences designed to become the defining memory of the trip.

Starting in 2027 for Prague and Budapest and in 2028 for Amsterdam, guests can continue the adventure with multiday pre- and post-cruise stays that mirror the small group, locally led ethos of the river experience. These extensions include daily tours with local hosts, premium hotels, concierge services, breakfast, and seamless airport transfers for a worry-free journey from start to finish.
