Over the past year, Royal Caribbean Group employees have demonstrated their commitment to being a force for the greater good. The Group’s dedication to delivering vacations of a lifetime to guests while positively impacting the communities they touch grows stronger with every year that passes. By working closely with local leaders and organizations around the world, Royal Caribbean Group continues to learn about and help address the needs of people around the world.
For more than 25 years, the Group’s annual GIVE Day has inspired employees to get involved and connect with local communities through volunteer service. The GIVE program stands for Get Involved Volunteer Everywhere. In 2024, hundreds of employees from 30+ different departments completed a GIVE volunteer project, participating in a range of activities from beach clean-ups and meal and hygiene kit assembly to coral tree building and student mentorship. Collectively, the Group’s employees contributed more than 52,000 volunteer hours to support different community initiatives.
From the senior executives – many of which serve on non-profit boards around the world – to summer interns volunteering, every team member plays an important part in strengthening the communities and supporting the mission of local nonprofit organizations. This summer, interns participated in a coastal clean-up in Crandon Park, Key Biscayne. The volunteers collaborated with Miami-Dade County Parks to collect more than 100 pounds of garbage. As a vacation leader, Royal Caribbean Group seeks to protect the seas they sail, and in 2024, more than 1,300 pounds of trash was collected across coastal communitites.
Royal Caribbean hosted a GIVE Day in support of Make-A-Wish®’s mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Partnering with Inter Miami CF, the Royal Caribbean team helped grant 23 wishes for children who asked to meet the Inter Miami CF team and their captain, Lionel Messi, the Icon and Godfather of Icon of the Seas. The children and their families received an exclusive Icon of the Seas ship tour before their Wish journey continued at Chase Stadium. They were welcomed by Royal Caribbean employees with encouraging signs to cheer them on as they made their way to the field, making them feel like celebrities. The Make-A-Wish children enjoyed an on-field suite to watch Inter Miami CF’s practice scrimmage and received branded Royal Caribbean and Inter Miami CF gifts, including a jersey signed by each player and hugs from Messi and his team.
Royal Caribbean Group is proud of their employees and champions their passion for making a positive difference with the Volunteer Time-Off policy, which grants U.S. employees a paid benefit of eight volunteer hours each calendar year at any non-profit organization of their choice. Driven by the Group’s SEA the Future initiative, they aim to sustain the planet, energize communities and accelerate innovation to ensure the health and well-being of future generations.
